Florida Approved Metal Building Accessories Protect Against Wild Weather
No building is 100% hurricane-proof, but Florida product approval takes things pretty close. Metallic Products offers a number of ventilator and louver options with enhanced engineering that makes them ideal for areas regularly impacted by heavy winds and adverse weather.
Available for use in any U.S. state, our Florida approved building accessories meet or exceed the strict standards set forth by the Florida Building Commission. For structures that require even more substantial protection, we offer Miami-Dade high velocity hurricane zone (HVHZ)-rated vents approved for regions most susceptible to extreme damage. This includes the Florida Keys and the state’s Broward, Miami-Dade and Coastal Palm Beach counties.
How did we obtain HVHZ and Florida product approval? Our team worked closely with outside testing facilities, third-party evaluators and validators, pushing our products to — and past — their limit. Accessories underwent extensive wind uplift, driven rain and large missile-impact testing that mimicked storm scenarios. The goal was to see what they were capable of withstanding, and to ensure they offered proper protection.
Today, our company undergoes annual audits during which an outside agency analyzes our quality assurance manual and manufacturing procedures to ensure the products can stand up in extreme weather conditions. We like to think Florida product approval offers added peace of mind for anyone who owns — or operates out of — a steel building.
