Industrial Roof-Mount Fans

Industrial Attic Fan Options Keep Operations Moving
Safely Forward

Metallic Products’ roof-mount fans are a mechanical means of controlling humidity and temperature conditions inside your metal buildings. Connected to a thermostat, this industrial approach to the attic fan is designed to switch on when rising temperature or humidity levels call for it, and to shut off automatically once conditions reach a desired state. Roof-mount fans also usher smoke, fumes, odors and contaminants out.

With belt drive and direct drive upblast exhaust fans available, and hooded industrial fans as well, there’s an option for industrial operations of all types and sizes. Interested in other power vent varieties? We offer wall-mount fans and accompanying shutters and accessories, too.

Roof-Mount
Fan FAQs

Get quick answers to common questions about roof-mount fans and how they support powerful, effective ventilation for metal buildings.

A:

The primary difference between the two roof fans is the direction in which air is discharged. Upblast fans direct exhaust air up and away from the roof, while down-blast fans discharge it down toward the roof surface. Your ideal option will vary based on your building, application and the type of air being exhausted.

A:

There is no one-size-fits-all CFM value for warehouse ventilation. Proper airflow is calculated based on factors such as building volume, operations, heat and moisture levels, and the desired number of air changes per hour (ACH). Your accessories provider can use those details to help determine the right roof-mount fan size and CFM for your building.

A:

Yes! Roof curbs provide a secure, stable mounting surface for roof-mount fans while helping create a weathertight connection with the roof system. Properly matching the fan, curb and roof profile is important for reliable performance and protection against moisture intrusion.

A:

Yes. Routine inspection and maintenance can help keep roof fans operating reliably and extend their service life. Maintenance needs vary by fan, but generally include checking components for wear, clearing away debris and inspecting belts, bearings, motors and other moving parts.

A:

Roof-mount fans can (and should) be efficient. Properly sized fans provide powered airflow where and when it’s needed, and energy-efficient motors and controls can help manage power consumption. Choosing the right fan for your building and ventilation requirements is key to efficient operation. Your metal building accessories provider can help.

A:

Roof exhaust fans can help satisfy ventilation requirements when properly selected, sized and installed. Specific requirements vary based on building use, location and the type of air being exhausted. Always confirm applicable building, mechanical and electrical codes for your project.
